This is my first gouache painting, and I'm very proud of it !

It's highly inspired by the wonderful art of Anne-Julie, especially her "Girl at poppies".

Goodbye Sweetheart

On Saturday morning, there was a drawing in ANTImag #4 that I thought I could reproduce in my own way.

So here is my original sketch :



Then, the painted version in Photoshop :



On Sunday morning, I needed to do something more real.
So I headed to my brushes and started another version.

That one is the first watercolor :



And finally the second watercolor :



Don't be afraid, the Girl with Red Hair is not that sad, even if she misses her Blue Bear a lot, now that he have moved to a far away land...

Behind the scenes, it looked like that :



The animals are pochoirs inspired by my plushes : Babou the chimp, Jim the elephant (its design is from Ilona).
The glued elements are dried leaves, petals and flowers.

Eyes

I don't remember what i was thinking of when i draw the idea on a piece of paper just before falling asleep.
I think that, in addition to Mouth, I tried to express the silence that remains around a painful event.
Because some scars never heal...

Je ne me souviens plus à quoi je pensais exactement lorsque j'ai fait l'ébauche sur papier juste avant de dormir.
J'essayais surement de trouver comment exprimer le silence qui entoure un événement douloureux.
Il y a parfois des blessures qui ne guérissent jamais...

Bloom and Chaos

Something to try, something to explore.
I was listening, in my head, to Mozart's Requiem.
The music going crescendo then exploding !

14-18

Strong tempera on Canson paper.

The title refers to WW1, it's what a friend said when he saw that.
And I was thinking about teen age, between 14 and 18 years old, the most sensitive period of a life.

There is Hope, anger and depression. That's how I felt during my own teenage time.
Confusion with what we were told and taught, what we were seeing around us, and what we were dreaming of.

I don't claim to be a painter, I just want to express my emotions through all visual arts I can access.
I'm a photographer at first, and this is also why I take pictures of my pieces, and of what surround it when creating.

It was a real pleasure to throw drop of colors all around, more expressive to me than flat lines.
So my roomate show me a book about Jackson Pollock and abstract expressionism painters, and then I realize that maybe I could understand modern art ;)

Nightmares - Cauchemars

Getting older is making me more and more afraid of the dark...
I'm almost 29 but in my nightmares, I'm still 5.

(I really don't like digital watercolor ! the result is absolutely emotionless, so expect to see a real painting soon).

J'ai bientôt 29 ans mais dans mes cauchemars, j'en ai toujours 5.

(Je n'aime pas du tout l'aquarelle numérique, le résultat est plat. Donc attendez-vous à voir une vraie peinture sous peu).

Detail - making of

When I saw this piece, I was instantly inspired.
"Words that have offended me"... Quite easy to remember all the pain and hurts and feelings.
So here is a collection of what I've heard from parents, friends, teachers, lovers.
What is still a scratch on my heart.

Quand j'ai vu cette peinture, j'ai été immédiatement inspirée.
"Les mots qui m'ont offensée"... Se rappeler la douleur et les émotions des choses blessantes qu'ont pu me dire des proches, des professeurs ou des amis est tristement facile.
Ceci est donc une collection de mes cicatrices du coeur.
